  2. No. Pray for and love the Roman Pontiffs. Do you pray for him?

  3. Of course I pray for the Roman Pontiff.......every validly canonically elected pope. I don't pray for cardinals who engaged in campaigning for the papacy before the conclave. Because they would be excommunicated and not really the pope. I wonder if that has happened lately.....oh wait..............

  4. I do not feel good about this pope and what he is about. I feel he is dangerous to the Church at times and often reckless in speech. I could go on and on with my reasons for feeling uneasy with him at the helm, but I pray for him every day. It would be uncharitable not to pray for him. I don't ask God for anything in particular I merely ask God to "bless and protect the Holy Father and guide him in Your ways." He is the pope and he is Peter's successor and he needs the prayers of all of us.

  6. Every pope must be defended. The liberal media hype has exaggerated false claims of his being "liberal."

  7. The Holy Spirit doesn't pick popes.....cardinals do. God permits popes.
The Francis affect has not yet translated itself into increased numbers at Mass on Sundays. Independent PEW Surveys - check the net -- show no significant impact. His appeal is certainly to those outside of the church who see us as too narrow in thought and approach. Elton John thinks he is great -- but Elton has not been to Mass I don't think. We are "out of touch" with where world is now. But, that is our witness. Francis' cry of mercy is good but when asking for mercy we must also change our lives and re-order them towards God. Jesus left us a Church to accomplish our redemption. Part Two of the mercy message is not too apparent from this pope. Francis often does the Church a great disservice and warps the authentic message of the Church. Sad. But, pray for him we must. Especially for Francis we must.
