A dozen or so Noble and Palantine Guard should be restored for purposes to be newly determined but their visual absence does alot to to erode the historical image one has of the Papacy and Rome. They should be given a role in the Pauline Mass as well. Ordinary Catholics miss these images when we look to Rome.

ReplyDeleteAs a former member of the Noble Guard I entirely agree with you. Unfortunately however I think there is very little chance. Sentiment is not with us.
DeleteThere is absolutely no chance under the present Management Structure. Indeed I would say that the future of the Swiss Guard is in Question
