Good. If the Catholics don't go to their churches, then this is what they get. Personally, I would prefer it if the church had been demolished.
(I hope it sinks).
What goes around, comes around. I blame the Doge. He should have gone to Egypt with the Crusaders to finish the job instead of using them to sack Constantinople for his one personal gain.
This is wrong on so many levels. The saints who died as martyrs witnessing to Christian truth in the face of Islamic jihad would be apoplectic if they saw this.
Horror. Is this called the Mosque of Mercy? Simply one of many closed churches in Venice. I think it was privately owned for something like the last 40 years.
The conversion to a mosque is a time-limited art installation for the biennale. The church was decommissioned decades ago. Let's keep things in proportion.
Which church it this?

Fruits of the Vatican II "renewal"!
ReplyDeleteHow this horrible sacrilege has been possible ? Is it possible to have more details ?
ReplyDeleteThis is wrong on so many levels. The saints who died as martyrs witnessing to Christian truth in the face of Islamic jihad would be apoplectic if they saw this.
ReplyDeleteThat cuts deep.
ReplyDeleteWon't be the last either. Thanks for the Vatican II "Renewal"!

ReplyDeleteIt is better to get accustomed with that: in Europe, during the years to come, it will happen again and again and again…
ReplyDeleteMoschea Della Misericordia.

ReplyDeleteNot so. The "time limited art installation" is simply from 8 May - 22 November. The mosque is permanent.
DeleteIt would be better to destroy a closed church than let the House of God be desecrated.
ReplyDeletedisgusting
ReplyDeleteA disgusting sacrilege.
ReplyDeleteIt is happening everywhere.
