Papal Throne of the Sistine Chapel

Constructed during the reign of Pius XI, like so much else, it was consigned to storage by order of Paul VI during the sad sixties.

Then, Pope Benedict, now gloriously reigning, brought it back. It is kept in the Hall of Benedictions, but placed in the Sistine Chapel when the Holy Father celebrates Solemn Mass there.

  1. I was trying to find info on the throne. Thanks. And, by the way, it's still in the Hall of Benedictions: https://twitter.com/PiusOP/status/576298409361031168
