I've never commented before on your blog but I added you to my blogroll. I returned to the Catholic Church in March 2008 after being away for 25 years and 1 year after the death of my mother. (I know her prayers were instrumental in my return.)
Since my return, one area of interest (and questions) has been priestly vestments. I was raised with the rather bland "tablecloth" vestments that struck me as something out of Star Trek than anything. But these ornate, gorgeously embroidered vestments - they are really something. If you know of any websites, articles, or books that delve into vestments and their purpose within the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, I'd love to learn more. Thanks so much. Great blog. Love your photos!
How sad to see all that splendor locked up in dusty display cabinets to make way for the Newchurch...
ReplyDeleteWow. Those are just stunning.
