The Brass: the Pope's Inner Circle

These are the guys the Pope sees every day.  The two monsignori in the middle are his two secretaries, from Germany and Malta.

  1. Monsignor Gänswein's shoes are brand new and very fancy - they are fit for an Ecumenical Patriarch or for a Patriarch of All The Russians. At least the others don't seem to give such a high priority to their footwear.

  2. It is the traditional roman shoe for clerics...

  3. QUESTION: What monsignorial grade or rank are the pope's two secretaries?

  4. great photo post jp!

quick question, isn't it that clergy attached to the papal household and in direct service to the roman pontiff have the privilege/right to have their fascias and ferriaolone in watered silk or is this abrogated also?

    keep it up!

  5. Msgr. Ganswein's hair has a lot more gray in it than it did 5 years ago. Must be the job stress.
