From the Roman Martyrology: January 22nd

"At Valentia in Spain, in the province of Tarragona, St. Vincent, Deacon and Martyr, who under the most wicked governor Dacian suffered prision, starvation, the rack, the dislocation of his limbs, burning plates, the heated gridiron and other kinds of torture; and in reward for his martyrdom he departed to heaven.  Prudentius sang in elegant verse the glorious triumph of his passion, and blessed Augustine and Pope St. Leo commend him with the highest praise."
