The Good Old Days

  1. The MC kneeling in the foreground, Msgr. Terzariol, should look familiar to anyone who has seen the film, "The Shoes of the Fisherman". He appears in it in the role of, what else but the papal MC! It turns out that he was to be a technical advisor on the film. The director thought that rather than have monsignor train an actor in what to do in the scenes with a papal liturgy it would be easier simply to have him do the scenes. So, he did!

  2. This appears to be a great photo for those who love Tradition: A Prelate [Montini] celebrates Mass in the presence of the John XXIII. Here we see the Prayers at the Foot of the Altar, lead by John XXIII, in cope, with Montini at his side, making responses. The faldstool can be seen at far left; Montini sitting there, John XXIII, returning to the throne.
So foreign to the Novus Ordo would be this event: a [higher] prelate being at the Mass and another bishop offering the Mass, yet the higher prelate leads the beginning of Mass.. and some other points of the Mass. Wow!
