The late Archbishop Patrick Foley talked affirmatively about the sedia gestatoria as recalled by Veronica Scarsbrick on December 16, 2011 at Vatican Radio
Yes, the Pope should bring back the Sedia. Just because JP II didn;t like it doesn't mean all succeeding Popes have to follow suit and not like it.
Since John Paul II kissed the Koran, does that mean that every succeeding Pope must seek out an opportunity to kiss the Koran?
Since John Paul II used the Pope Mobile, and was pushed around on a library cart when he couldn't walk ( which looks ridiculous by the way), does that mean all succeeding Popes must use it?
This Pope has wasted too much time trying to copy the bad agenda and misguided gestures or quirks of John Paul II. Benedict XVI isn't John Paul II. He should stop trying to invoke him, quote him, or copy him.
