St. Thomas Academy Chapel

Ugly stuff like this passed in the 1960s, but it is questionable to what degree it is capable to inspire kids born in the 2000s.

It is no wonder kids graduate from Catholic schools skeptical of the alleged real presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

With all the wealth at St. Thomas Academy, it is time for a chapel upgrade.  And new lighting here, too.  The whole thing breeds claustrophobia - the effect is that you can't wait to get away.  It has the feeling of a prison cell.  Do you think it looks like a prison?

The holiest priest in the diocese ought to be chaplain here.  With daily Confession and Eucharistic exposition.  We cannot afford to lose another generation of Catholic kids who graduate from prominent Catholic schools and then no longer believe.

Just turn up the notch a bit.  And I would bring in the Latin Mass to teach the kids a thing or two about Catholic culture.

  3. I agree. All the money they have spent on IT/IS at STA in the last several years, they could certainly afford a chapel upgrade.
