  1. Although I love your blog, and the photos are fantastic, this is rather ridiculous to post a pix of Benedict XVI wearing the tiara.....something he isn't ever likely to do.

Also, you hinted strongly months ago that the Pope would start using the Sedia Gestatoria. That would have been wonderful, and brought up the hopes of the many people who prayed for such.
It didn't happen....and unless you know something for certain that we don't, it's not good to speculate, because it turns into a big disappointment if nothing happens.

Benedict XVI isn't likely to do much good for Catholic tradition. They're still too obcessed with immitating the though and every action of John Paul II......as if he was the first Pope!

  2. At this point I wish His Holiness would wear the Papal Tiara... just to stop these silly photo-shopped images from making the rounds!

  3. LOL.....abash the liberals with this! However, the bitter brine of modernity is still too strong for this return to be seen anytime soon. In due season, as the briers that grew up are taken down "brick by brick".

  4. Once Cardinal Sodano and his henchmen are gone, the situation will improve.
None of them are under 70, so it won't be a long wait!!

  5. "Benedict XVI isn't likely to do much for Catholic tradition..."

...other than liberating the traditional Latin Mass, re-ordering the whole system of episcopal appointments, undoing the SSPX excommunications and entering actual theological dialogue to bring them back into full communion, initiating a re-evaluation of the liturgy as a whole, restocking the curia and College of Cardinals with significant upgrades...

  6. "Brick by brick" is getting rather tedious. It is more like "grain of sand by grain of sand." With a roll of the dice a wave from the Tyrrhenian will wash it all away with the next pontificate.

  7. "Tiara: Unity of East and West" -- really? What about "Rather the Moslem turban than the papal tiara?"

  8. I agree with the first poster. It's an amusing photo and there have been many like it but, especially in light of the tiara vs. mitre on the coat of arms blow up of the past couple of weeks, and being that the position and will of the Holy Father (which one can agree with or not)is now very clearly known, photoshopped pictures like this really are trivial and immature. Traditional/Conservative/Orthodox Catholics (whatever we want to be called) have great wit and senses of humor. However, there are times when we truly do need to learn to grow up and move on.

  10. As with other comments, I clearly don't understand the need to create an image of the Holy Father that he himself had chosen not to pursue.

And to say "Once Cardinal Sodano and his henchmen are gone, the situation will improve" carries the strong, unfortunate, and curious implication that the Holy Father is unable to provide effective leadership but it outwitted, outsmarted, and out-led by members of the curia. Unless of course you believe that Sodano, et al., and not Benedict XVI are in charge of the church.

  11. Have you seen the tiara on the title page of the papal missal for Santiago?
