  3. Why are they out from the enclosure? Someone's got a lot of splaining to do.

  4. Several of Mother Angelica's nuns are "externs," which means they can travel outside the cloister/enclosure.

  5. John-they are attending the Final Profession of one of the Sisters-I believe it was in the Cathedral. They have 'temporary' quarters in an old convent until they can build their own monastery. After that happens, then they will be fully enclosed.

Plus, what they're doing now is making themselves known to the people in Charlotte. And the people have received them with open arms!

That's my 'splaining'....and besides that, it's mentioned on their website and newsletter. I get the latter by snail mail.

  6. They aren't starting a new foundation. They have moved to a temporary monastery from OH. It seems that since they are not formally enclosed they can move about freely as needed.

  7. The Charlotte Poor Clares (formally in Portsmouth, OH) moved to Charlotte last year. They are currently living in a convent in the parish of St. Ann Catholic Church. In the future, with God's help, they will build a monastery outside of the city. At that point, they will receive their papal order for enclosure. On the left is Reverend Mother Dolores Marie. Their website (which is being redone) is http://www.stjosephmonastery.com.
