Actually this Order has remained fairly solid (except in the USA...naturally), and has gained many vocations even in Europe. The Order recently (within the last 15 years), re-established itself in France, where it had disappeared for centuries....and has gained some vocations (unlike other Orders).
The Order was always strongest in Italy and Spain.
Let us hope that this Order, which numbers about 620 friars world wide (and has not collapsed like so many Orders since Vatican II....except in the USA), can gain many more vocations and fill the streets of Rome, like they did before Vatican II.
