  1. Send it back to the hotel lobby!

  2. But it's Baroque--it matches!

  3. wait a minute-- I think I just now realized that they match the candelabra. Were they refashioned for a people altar from another set of candelabra?

  4. It is not sad, it is in honour of Our Lord Jesus Christ for Whom St. Agnes gave her young life. She had decided not to marry but to consecrate her virginity to Him. Because she refused to marry some noble or other he denounced her as a Christian. She willingly suffered martyrdom for her Divine Spouse.
Would a hotel place a table with cherubim in its lobby? Would those who owned a "coffee table" with cherubim pray "Blessed be God in His angels and in His saints"? No. Only worldlings consider this ornate beauty - a work of art intended for the glory of the Almighty in His humble saint - "sad".
But the truth is, this world is passing away.

  5. @Anne B- I think the point was why have a glass "table" when there is a beautiful proper Alter in the background? Only a worldling would consider himself so important, that everyone needs to see his face, instead of leading us in worship of Almighty God.
