La Rinascente in Rome

This is said to be Rome's first department store.

La Rinascente ("she who is born again"), founded in Milan in 1865, was founded in Rome in 1887.

Every Christmas in Rome yours truly has walked around here to enjoy the holiday cheer and to see the decorations and to enjoy the moment.

This place has been renovated many times over the years.  The last renovation revealed all the beautiful old original ceilings and restored capitals.
