Rome!
Special thanks to the wonderful clergy of the Institut du Bon Pasteur, some of my favorite priests in the Eternal City!
August 1st in Rome 100 Degrees: IL Cielo รจ Sereno, Buonforno a Tutti!
AUGUST 1ST: PETER IN CHAINS. St. Peter led an amazing life! He even raised a lady named Tabitha from the dead in Joppa (read Acts 9). Read the story of "Peter in Chains" in Acts 12: 6-8. While Peter was imprisoned and bound with chains, an angel struck him on the side and woke him saying: "Get up quickly." The chains dropped from his hands. "Wrap thy cloak about thee and follow me," the angel instructed. Thus the story of St. Peter's jail break. Today these chains are kept safely in the Roman Basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli for all to see, a magnificent church consecrated in 439 AD. Did you know this church also houses Michelangelo's renowned statue of Moses?
