Palm Sunday in Canada

  1. Great photos of what appears a beautiful celebration. But, I do note that this is only April and there is NO snow in these Canadian pictures. We Americans feel Canada is the Great White North....well it looks spring-like and warm.
A misconception we need to overcome. Although I am sure January is a chill.

    1. To paraphrase Admiral Nelson: "Love of liturgy keeps us warm."

But I recall it was about 0 Celsius that morning in Ottawa. Cool but not cold.

      Great pics, JP.

  4. Do I denote from the last photograph that, while deacon and celebrant wait outside the closed door of the Church, the subdeacon is knocking at the door with the foot of the processional cross?
If so, it is interesting to see yet another 1962 group using this ceremony that is distinctly not present in Bugnini's reform but is part of the Traditional Holy Week. Bottom line: Let's bring back the old Triduum!

  5. Many trad parishes do a mix of pre-Pius XII Holy Week. Very nice, by the way!

  6. Why not veil the Processional Cross (which the Bugnini Holy Week did away with) but then keep the ceremony of opening the door?
