Saint Thérèse of Lisieux "Little Flower" Pilgrimage in France

One of our favorites!

She is a new saint, canonized in 1925.

Pius XI made her the "star" of his pontificate.

Terrific to visit her place of birth, death and burial.   Makes a great vocations tour for young women discerning their vocation in life.

An Excellent Pilgrimgae: In the Footsteps of St. Paul

I am looking for a pastor to lead this tour for me.  It would include stops in Constantinople, Nicea, Ephesus and the house of Our Lady.  If you think you and your parishioners may be interested, send me a note.

Elizabeth II Meets Venerable Pius XII in 1951

A lovely image.  Before she was queen.

I wonder how many of these people are still living?  Philip is now 96.

Let us pray for the conversion of Elizabeth and Philip back to the universal Church.

12 Promises of the Sacred Heart

The 12 Promises of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to St. Marguerite-Marie Alacoque

I. I will give them all the graces necessary in their state of life.
II. I will establish peace in their homes.
III. I will comfort them in all their afflictions.
IV. I will be their secure refuge during life, and above all, in death.
V. I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.
VI. Sinners will find in my Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.
VII. Lukewarm souls shall become fervent.
VIII. Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.
IX. I will bless every place in which an image of my Heart is exposed and honored.
X. I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
XI. Those who shall promote this devotion shall have their names written in my Heart.
XII. I promise you in the excessive mercy of my Heart that my all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays in nine consecutive months the grace of final perseverance; they shall not die in my disgrace, nor without receiving their sacraments. My divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.

Tribute to Monsignor Pietro Barbieri: Where He Hid Jews During the Nazi Occupation of Rome (near Termini)

Communism a World Threat TODAY

The last Nazis are dead and gone, but Communists are still here. We should commit ourselves all the more to fighting Socialism/Communism with increasing vigor.

Artillery Damage in Rome's Aurelian Wall at the Porta Pia from the September 20, 1870 Attack on Rome by the Garibaldi Masons

A marble and bronze monument was constructed at the exact point of the breach which you can still see today.  Interesting to see the damage from canons.  The Papal Zouave soldiers who were killed here defending the papacy and the holy city are buried in a vault at the Bones Church on the Via Veneto.

As the World Continues to Go Bonkers

Talk about fake news, ugh.

Twenty years ago I gave up TV.  It was the best decision of my life.  No regrets.

I once told this to a priest and he replied: "Yes, me too, but I only watch the news."  Actually, friends, the news is the problem!

Not watching the news has eliminated stress from my life.

Giving up TV has multiplied my time by a thousandfold.  Now I have the time to do the things I should be doing.

I have also given up radio, magazines and newspapers.

I now have adequate time for reading, study, hobbies, prayer, visiting church, family, leisure, gardening, walking and enjoying life.

Those who survive the culture war will be those not reached by the secular mass media.  Sever the lines of communication.

Also, when you send your kids off to school, you forfeit your parental rights.  If you want to save them from the zombie culture, try homeschooling.

Fatima Prayer

This prayer is powerful.  Pray if often.

Votive Mass for Pilgrims

All pilgrims are in our prayers with every Votive Mass for Pilgrims!

Catholic Culture: Gravestone with Latin Inscribed

Elisabeth and Heinrich Vorwerk.

These wonderful souls served as an inspiration for our parish and community.  They were the senior couple of our Latin Mass community at Sts. Joachim and Ann in Aldergrove, B.C.

They survived Nazi Germany, were wed in 1952 and moved to Canada, where they found peace and happiness.

Every Sunday they came faithfully to the Latin Mass and prayed with great devotion with their kids and grandkids.  Our dear pastor, Fr. William Ashley, renewed their wedding vows on the 60th anniversary of their wedding.

Our parish has not been the same since their untimely departure.  May they inspire a new generation of Catholic couples to be strong and inspire others by their intense devotion in the pews.

Their tombstone is a worthy tribute to their greatness: Cor Iesu, Dona Eis Requiem Sempiternam.

Many Thanks to the Knights of Columbus for the Pro-Life Memorials

One of the greatest contributions the Knights of Columbus have made has proven to be these wonderful pro-life memorials, seen in parish gardens and cemeteries across our land.  Hats off to them and thank you for this fine service to the living and dead.

Immeasurable Beauty of the Roman Rite: Jesuit Liturgical Calendar

Known but to a remnant.

"At that time Jesus spoke and said, 'I praise thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou dist hide these things from the wise and prudent, and didst reveal them to little ones.  Yes, Father, for such was thy good pleasure."  -Matthew 11: 25
