Pontifical North American College

Back in the good old days.

Hope everybody enjoys these rare old pics.

Just think what it would do to the city and the world to see this scene today, in vivo.

The world is hungry. Let us give what the Church in Her wisdom has already given to us.

  1. How many of them ended up leaving the priesthood? The NAC is nothing special.

    1. No, I do believe they are seminarians from the North American College. According to the 1900 Handbook to Christian and Ecclesiatical Rome by Tuker and Malleson and an old edition of Georgina Masson's classic Companion Guide to Rome, the German College seminarians wore a scarlet cassock, black sash, and scarlet soprana with pendant strings while seminarians from the North American College wore (and still wear to this day) a double-breasted black cassock, blue pipings and buttons, crimson sash, and soprana (piped in blue) with pendant strings.

    1. I know for a fact there are a few seminarians at the College that still wear the soprana on occasion.
