Ottawa Skyline: Tower of New FSSP Parish with Peace Tower of Parliament

It will be a real treat to worship in the historic church of Sainte-Anne, constructed in 1873, so close to Parliament.

"I desire therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men: For kings, and for all that are in high station: that we may lead a quiet and a peaceable life in all piety and chastity. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator of God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

-1 Tim 2: 1-3

  1. A pity the neighbourhood was levelled in the '60s. A bit like LeBreton Flats.

  2. In 1966 the city launched an urban renewal project with a series of expropriations which caused relocation for the citizens in the area of St. Anne. The origins of St. Anne parish are closely joined to those of Bytown itself, the oldest section and the cradle of the capital city. Keep the name St. Anne. The name St. Clement is too Italian and has no relation to Ottawa. On April 2, 2009 the wall of the western transept crumbled. Pray for donations.
