This photo of Paul VI was taken at Yankee Stadium in 1965....If I am correct, it was the first time a pope was seen wearing modern vestments. But, can anyone tell me why the pope did not wear the pallium? This is the only time in recent history where we have a reigning pope not wearing the pallium at holy Mass.
