  3. This vesture should be returned to the protonotaries apostolic supernumeraires at the diocesan level and to the prelates of honour. Both these grades of monsignori should have this returned to them..i know bishops now wear the mozetta as a sign of episcopal character etc so i won't talk that but give this back to th monsignori.

  4. Before Paul VI destroyed the Mass and disallowed all the old Catholic vesture for prelates of this class, were not Protonotaries permitted to wear some form of the cappa magna. I believe that there was one, specifically for this class of prelates in the Vatican.

  5. i think the folded cappa was allowed to the canons of the vatican basilica before. a video of them giving their obedienza to Pope John XXIII before his coronation can be seen in YT wearing the folded cappa.

    i agree though, the mantelletta should brought back!!
