It's probably 42 Italian, which runs about size 9 in American.
That sounds more sensible, 42 versus 9.European sizes are so strange to us Americans.
The order came from the Vatican and so the Pope's Rome shoemaker is fast at work. The Pope's shoe size is 42. When completed the shoemaker, a native of Peru, will personally present them to His Holiness. Nice job, Antonio!
