Isn't this also home to a tiny remnant of radical liberal Camaldolese monks, who celebrate really bizarre "Vatican II style" Masses with all the crazy abuses that were popular in the 1970's and which they still cling too? I heard about their monastery here, down to about 5 upper middle aged to elderly Camaldolese, and the weird Vespers and Masses they create. Sad story for a once great Order now down to less than 90 monks world wide....and only about 5 here.
The throne of St. Gregory the Great is here, because if I'm not mistaken, this location was once his family home.
John, where is this throne located?
ReplyDeleteYes, inside Rome's S. Gregorio on Caelian Hill.
