In Canada you notice O.M.I. parishes everywhere. Then you notice how odd many of them have become. Let it go unsaid that it would be nice to see a quick renewal in the O.M.I. order to fidelity, orthodoxy and catholicity.
The Oblates are not what they used to be. Doing misionary work for Oblates was before was harvesting souls for the Lord, as the Holy Oblate Founder St, Eugene de Mazenod taught his Oblates. But today, since the Oblate congregation is sadly too modernistic, missioning is for the sake of dialogue and community and not to save souls. There is no such thing as salvation of souls.
I agree with you Br. Anthony -- I who am a priest of the Oblate congregation together with you but for reasons of prudence cannot reveal my identity publicly here. Modernism is deeply entrenched in our congregation and unless a great miracle from heaven happens, we are doomed to extinction. Would that the Modernists wake up from their illusion that theirs is the true heritage of our holy father, St. Eugene de Mazenod, and once more work truly for the Pope, for the Church, and zeal for the salvation of souls and not for this crappy dialogue, etc. etc.

ReplyDeleteTake it from an Oblate seminarian.
