Each new Patriarch of Jerusalem of the Latins makes a visit to the Diocese of Arezzo-Cortona-Sansepolcro to be welcomed by the locals: bishop, mayor, clergy and faithful.
Cortona is where a famous relic of the true cross is kept and Sansepolcro was named after the Holy Sepulchre, the most sacred shrine for Christians, where Christ was buried and where He rose from the dead at Jerusalem.
We were right there! There was a wedding going on so we didn't get to go inside. Thanks for the pictures!!
ReplyDeleteCortona was beautiful. Can't wait to go back.
I too was privledged to see part of the celebrations in Arrezzo and in San Sepulcro where the music in the evening mass was so beautiful. The Italians were really friendly and welcoming, a wonderful end to a brilliant holiday
