Someone is wearing an unauthorized sword with his 4th degree attire. That sword was actually made for one of two mason-like lodge organizations: either the Knights of Pythias or the Knights Templar (a hokey misappropriation of the dissolved order's name); I simply forget which now. The very oldest K of C swords had an eagle atop the pommel. For many decades they have all featured a bust of Columbus himself, however.
None of which should suggest that the Knights are not a fantastic organization, which they are.
My dear Sonnen:
ReplyDeleteThis is not from the knights of Columbus but is a sword from the masonic "Knights Templar".
People are always getting the swords confused.
God Bless.
Love the site.
