Mons. Carlo Chenis, SDB (Bishop of Civitavecchia - Tarquinia): R.I.P. 1954 - 2010

He was a personal friend of mine.  And he welcomed this blog effort.

On St. Joseph's Day he passed away at the age of 55.  One of the finest bishops on the continent.  A major loss for the Church and local community.  I am still in a state of shock.  Please pray for this holy soul.  He was a fierce and loyal son of Pope Benedict XVI.

Requiem!

  1. I did not know this Bishop personally but felt that I did through this excellent blog! I am shocked as well! I was impressed, with your use of the "apostolate of the photograph" to see his sweet smile, obviously kind manner yet dignified bearing and appearance.
What were the circumstances? Thank you, John, for introducing us to this fine man. RIP indeed...
