San Francesca Romana

1 comment:

  1. St. Frances of Rome founded the Oblate Benedictines (nuns) of Tor di Specchi, in Rome. I believe that the community was cloistered, but also performed some works of charity (distributing food to the poor from their monasteries, etc.).
Up until Vatican II, the nuns had a very beautiful and unique Benedictine habit.
Never a large Order, they still had about 60 sisters in 4 houses before Vatican II....but have progressively declined until today they are on the point of extinction with only about 11 elderly sisters in 1 convent...their original house founder by St. Frances...the "Tower of Mirrors" (Tor di Specchi).

If they had not updated their life, and altered their habit (still a long garb but minus the white monastic wimple), they probably would not have declined as severely.

Vatican II and it's "deforms" have destroyed much of religious life, and is in the process of wiping out many religious Orders both old and relatively new.
Most Orders of USA nuns (rad femminists), don't need the Vatican investigation to judge them...they'll be extinct in less than 10 years anyway.

Let us all pray that the disasterous path chosen by so many religious Orders (new and old communities), will soon be condemned by the Vatican, and recognized for the disaster it is.
