    No, Benedict XVI wear it on april 19th 2005, when it was elected, see the photos on photo.va.

    I thought that when pope benedict was elected none of the three white cassocks fitted and he wore a white alb under a cotta this lead to the apperance of his black cardigan under the sleeve can we see cassock buttons in a photo?
