Maurio Lucentini in his guidebook "ROME" published in 2006 seems to think this street shrine might have been dedicated to Pope Joan, aka Pope John VII, (page 419 and who he describes in some detail on pages 412-413.) While I really like this guidebook, sometimes it gets a bit sensational!
i seem to remember one on the street behind the Foro Nerva; it looked like a votive chapel, under the care of local residents. It may have been dedicated to St. Rita.
