From the Internet:
"This is Martin, 8. He died in the Boston
bombing yesterday. He was at the finish line with his family, waiting
for his dad to cross. His mother and little sister were catastrophically
injured. He was the student of our dear friend, Rachel Moo. His message
resonates powerfully today. My prayer is that we all live by Martin's
words, paying tribute to his too-brief, but immeasurably valuable life
by following his example."
This is truly tragic. May the angels receive his pure soul and keep him there. Our prayers and thoughts with his parents and grandparents.
ReplyDeleteGod Alone knows all things, and His Providence incites and motivates all things to work together for those who love Him. "My thoughts are not your thoughts," He tells us in Scripture. This tragedy, this Crime Against Humanity, has been worked out by God to allow for this young boy's eternal Salvation. (God did not force Judas to betray Him and He did not force the bombers to work their evil, but He can still steer those events to achieve His ends).
ReplyDeleteGod in His Providence causes all things to work together for those who love Him. God did not compel Judas to betray Him; Nor did He compel the bombers to commit this Crime Against Humanity. "My thoughts are not your thoughts," He tells us in Scripture. God allowed this to happen to ensure Martin's salvation.
ReplyDeleteIt's misleading to call him a martyr as he didn't die for his faith ('martyr' means witness). He was a boy of faith who was brutally murdered by men of evil. May he rest in peace until the day of judgement when he will rise to glory.
ReplyDeleteFor martyrdom, it must be ascertained: first, that the killer hated the Faith, and second, that the victim died as a witness to the Faith or a Christian virtue. The cause, then, must be either a belief or a virtue.
ReplyDeleteAt the very least he was an innocent victim
and the probability of him being a saint now is very high
I think it's a safe bet the Islamist terrorists were motivated by religious spite. Spite for Christian civilization.
ReplyDeleteKilled by Muslims. Ergo, a martyr.
