Before and After Renovation in Ireland

From their site:

"Following 18 months of work, our sanctuary is now restored to its original condition. The work was made necessary by a very serious deterioration of the stone frames around the stained glass windows. The windows had to be removed and all the stone repaired. While down, we took the opportunity to re-lead and clean the windows as necessary. It was suggested that we also remove the oil-based paint from the walls, since this was preventing them from breathing, and had contributed to the deterioration of the stone. In the process of removing this paint we discovered the original stencil designs, dating from the 1870s, and a decision was taken to reinstate these just as they had been. Here you have two photographs, the first before the restoration, the second after."
