Where the Future Pope Fr. Karol Wojtyla First Lived in Rome in 1946

Karol Wojtyla was ordained priest on November 1, 1946; two weeks later, on November 15, he was assigned to study in Rome.

When he arrived at Rome's Termini Station in 1946 he first came here to the College of the Pallotine Fathers on Via Pettinari.

For one month he stayed here until the end of December and then moved to the Belgian College until his return to Poland in 1948.

With so few vocations in recent decades, both colleges have since closed (college is the name here for a residence for seminarians/priest students).  Both have been sold.

This is now a luxury hotel: http://www.hotelpontesisto.it/.

We need more saintly vocations!
