Our Lady of Ascona: Mother of Mercy (Madre della Misericordia) in the Face of the New Age Movement

The modern New Age movement was founded in Ascona, Switzerland, on the Monte Verità (a hill which overlooks Ascona). 

Down the hill from this New Age centre is the town's Catholic school, the Collegio Papio.  There in the chapel one can see this holy icon which depicts our Mother of Mercy.  This image was painted in 1519 by Antonio di Lagaia.

Our Lady stands in the face of the New Age assault.  May she, in the mercy of Christ Jesus, make this town, through the influence of this collegio, a centre of Catholic spirituality, formation, culture, prayer, healing and holiness.  Amen.
