The Roman Rite in Washington, D.C.

When in Washington, D.C. yours truly attends Holy Mass here and afterwards greets Mr. Patrick J. Buchanan who is there every Sunday morning (http://www.buchanan.org/).

  2. It is baffling how American priests never want to dress properly for Mass.

  3. That's Father Harris, the pastor. He normally wears a cassock. I don't know when that photo was taken, but it could have been taken in the past few months when he was afflicted with an ailment in the leg that was shredded by rocket-propelled grenade during the Vietnam War. He had a knee-replacement just a few week ago. He may have skipped wearing a cassock to get around more easily.

  4. Lighting the six candles for High Mass is really tricky. There is a very small stair up to a walkway on top of the reredos behind the angel on the right. I have many fond memories of St. Mary's, even the time I fainted while helping with the paten during Communion.
