Just up the coast from Rome is Monte Argentario, in Tuscany. This is a nice place to spend a few summer days in the forest. Last summer yours truly was lucky to have been there twice. Etruscans used to live there, before the Romans. You can even take a boat ride to "Lily" Island (La Isola di Giglio).
Ah I love this flag. Turns out its the civil ensign. I was watching some old documentaries about WWII and saw a great big Italian flag with the Savoy arms on it. I was confused by this one that it had a coat of arms but not the St. George Cross from royal times.
