Catholic Culture: Hospital Visits
Many thanks to all who came to visit us in the hospital when baby was born.
Baby says thanks. And thanks especially to our kind priest who took time out of his busy day to visit and confirm us in the faith - grazie, caro Padre! Baby von Sonnen enjoyed her first visit with a sacerdos.
It meant a great deal. I never knew how much it meant to receive hospital visits until many years ago when I myself was in the hospital with appendicitis. Many came to visit and it still warms the heart.
Always remember to visit the sick. It is a corporal work of mercy. It goes a long ways.

Rome Quotes
"We are a schizophrenic society. We will fly a
deformed newborn baby four hundred miles by airplane to perform a
series of remarkable operations on such a youngster, knowing full well
that the end result will be far less than perfect. While we struggle to
save the life of a three-pound baby in a hospital's newborn intensive
care unit, obstetricians in the same hospital are destroying similar
infants yet unborn."

Remember: the Church Will Not Die
It will always be a public and visible institution.
A city set atop a hill. Always under siege, but never taken.
"The Church is Jesus Christ."
-Monsignor R.J. Schuler
Cardinal Celebrates Extraordinary Form in Presence of the Roman Pontiff in the Sistine Chapel?
Has been done before. Make this your prayer intention. Would be nice to see.
We must gradually return the Sistine Chapel to an active liturgical space.
Museum, yes, but also, and firstly, a chapel. The private chapel of the popes.

"To make known the treasures of Catholicism within the context
of a Western culture that is in the process of rejecting the
Faith responsible for its greatness.
To offer an antidote to the universal phenomenon of an accelerating secularism that is hostile to the One True Church and the salvific charge given to it by our Lord.
To disseminate through a variety of disciplines the fullness of Catholic culture and fight against the corrupting influence of the compartmentalization of knowledge."
