What I Saw Today

Liberal Catholics still cavil against beautiful church music such as this.

Many of us have already had our fill of the covey of modern guitar "sacred" music.

Stop the penury and let's return to this good stuff. This kid is amazing. Only 16-years-old. And he's an Anglican.

Thank the Lord these recent years for the isolette of good parishes who still preserve this great deposit of authentic sacred music.

  1. I agreed with everything, until I heard him singing Lloyd-Webber's appalling Pie Jesu, which I do not accept is authentic sacred music.
The lad has a beautiful voice, but I believe that Lloyd-Webber's Requiem cannot touch the wonders of Faure or the joys of the Missa De Angelis.
Wherever I have attended Mass, we have always managed to have a mix of the best of the old and new. I wish it was so for everybody.
