I encountered the same 'words on the screen thing' in a catholic church in Victoria, BC. I felt as if I was in a protestant auditorium. It is not Catholic and feels disconected.
1. Where is Jesus/God in this refrain? "You" could just as easily refer to Joe or Jane in the pew. Or Buddha, Krishna, take your pick. 2. More? What ever happened to quality versus quantity? 3. Is it really necessary to project such a simple refrain? Couldn't everyone pick it up in a few repetitions? (Why they would want to learn such a banal refrain is, however, beyond me.) 4. Couldn't afford hymn books? 5. Didn't get the memo that big screens went out with felt banners? 6. It smacks of protestant worship of the pentecostal kind. 7. Whatever happened to the altar being the focus of attention? 8. Sends God an ultimatum, if indeed "You" refers to the Lord. 9. Reduces God to a mere commodity. 10. Everything.
