Fiorenzo Cardinal Angelini: Still Living Today

Be inspired. An eyewitness to history and friend of Pius XII since the day Rome was bombed during WWII, Angelini was a first responder and the first priest on the spot when the San Lorenzo district was bombed. He and the Holy Father met there for the first time in the bombed out ruins.

Meet Fiorenzo Cardinal Angelini, born in 1916. Both he and Pius XII were born in Rome, making them true Romani. He still lives in Rome and many times I though of him as I would pass his palace on the Via della Conciliazione, number 15. He is now venerable in age and no longer ventures outside.

Angelini was consecrated bishop in 1956 which means he has been a bishop for over 55 years. Such a tremendous honor the Lord has bestowed upon him. Pray for his noble soul and be inspired. History in the making every day of the year.

Eminence, You rule the house.

  1. Cardinal Angelini is a true epitome
of orthodoxy and Romanità. As far as I know His Eminnce is at present the only member of the sacred college, beeing born in Rome.
