Extraordinary Form Celebrated by Paul VI

4 comments:

  1. Is he celebrating the Extraordinary Form? I do not see any altar cards (or the book used in lieu of them by Bishops, and I assume the Pope?) Also, the presence of the microphone. and it does not appear that he has his thumb and finger conjoined.

The book in lieu can be seen.

    He whispers into the microphone.

It's called a Pontifical Canon. As noted above, it's used in lieu of the altar cards, and, from the preface to till just before the communion antiphon, in lieu of the Missal.
