To be a canon regular in this noble order is a great honor.
Sadly, though, one order that really got rocked with the 'sixties was this one (Onamia even became a synonym for sin and evil).
Now they have a new start with fresh vocations from the Third World.
You should ask the Crossiers what is up with this picture.

Is this a precursor to Liturgical Dance.
Yes, the Croziers have really suffered as an Order since the 1960's. But don't be timid and blame the evil "1960's"...blame Vatican II. Be brave, man.
ReplyDeleteIn the USA, the Order has been wiped out. Not only by the liturgical lunacy and destruction of Catholic tradition and monastic life, but also by corruption of life, rampant homosexuality in the Order (like so many others from after Vatican II onward when all the disiplines when out the window). Before Vatican II in the USA, they had 3 Provinces, and about 275 Croziers. Today, they have 1 Province, and about 50.
Sad to sad that in the USA, and largely around the world, their mindset is still the post-Vatican II radical expression...which of course was a disaster then, as it is now!
Though it's nice to see the habit...their midset hasn't changed. Sad but true.
Crosiers were checkmated as sour long before the council they besmirched themselves. There were many fine brothers and priests who for years taught at Onamia impressing the boys with Christian character and ideals but after the war many malevolents entered the order. The boys in the high school had to be wily and trapdoor molestations happened and that is a FACT. Wizened boys left who had careful parents when things got bad. Lots left. But even today a seminarian must be wary and discreet in any seminary.
