Everything here is original - the floor, doors, door handles, etc.
Padre Pio only passed away in 1968.
It is wonderful to pray here, alone, in the silence and dark of the night. I had the honor to do so when I arrived late for the first time from Foggia just before 9 p.m.
Above the door are framed these holy words:
"The cross is always ready and follows you wherever."

I hope to frame these same words above my door.
I was a bit surprised to see the quote in Italian rather than Latin. From the Imitatio:
