As few would know, rubrics for Conventual Franciscans, like Kolbe, called for the biretta and not use an amice that would enclose the hood on their capuce. Why? I would hazzard to guess that, due to the OFM Conv. capuce being quite long, reaching the elbows, it cannot be left on under the alb without bunching up.
