Thank you for posting this. In addition to the academic text books mentioned, a booklet was published in the early 1970s by the British Medical Association as a Family Doctor booklet and entitled "So Now You Know - How Your Life Began". It contains a section entitled "Life begins at conception", the first paragraph of which states "To think of life as beginning at birth, however, is rather misleading. Life begins at conception".
This booklet was written by Roger Pilkington, M.A., Ph.D. and sold very cheaply to the general public.
The BMA no longer produces such booklets. A few copies of the booklet are still available via internet used-book sellers for those who wish to possess a booklet produced cheaply by the BMA explaining the truth - "So Now You Know" - about human life, before abortion became such a huge business for the medical profession.
