New Choir Area in St. Peter's Basilica

I am not a big fan.  They were fine hundreds of years without this.  Oh, well.

    Oh of course, I just realized why this was installed... The choir will now not be able to genuflect when the Supreme Pontiff passes in procession. I was wondering why this was installed after so many years of just gathering by the side.
