Pilgrim Shell of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem

Yours truly has been awarded the pilgrim shell.

It is the choicest decoration of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.

It is bestowed by the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and only to members of the Order who have made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land to renew their engagement in front of the Holy Sepulchre and to pray at this holy site.

This decoration consists of a scallop shell, the ancient badge of a pilgrim, in silver, in the center of which is placed the cross of the Order in red enamel bordered with gold.

Congratulations John. The papal order of knighthood which you have been given continues to undertake meaningful work in the Holy Land in helping to maintain Christian churches, schools and medical clinics. The Order of the Holy Sepulcher is not just an honorific awarded by the pope for merit but a true apostolate working in the Holy Land. Again congratulations on your honor. For all you do with this site you should be a papal count....I'll write a letter.
