    How could this be JPII in cappa magna? If he were still cardinal, his papal arms could not be displayed on the wall. He would not have yet been elected! On the other hand, if he had been elected and received arms, he would not be dressed as a cardinal

    With Polish members of the Roman Curia at that time. Mons. Agostino Casaroli kneeling, later one of the first cardinals created by John Paul II.
