Christian Monarch Meets Pope

6 comments:

  1. I remember this visit; it was quite a moment in modern history. Unfortunately I was quite shocked, really, when Pope John Paul II made a deep bow to the Queen. All good intentions aside, this was something that was not done. It achieved nothing, made no statement, and judging by the Queen's face in video documents, was very disconcerting. Thankfully there was no repeat when the Pope visited the Queen in London (I guess the Vatican people prepped the Pope for that one). I have seen many heads of state bow and kiss the Pope's hand (including non Catholics) but had never seen a Pope do that to a head of state.

Bowed to the heretic. Kissed the coran. Allowed pagan idols on the altar of Assisi. And this man is to be canonized? God help us.

  5. She's a good monarch and a devout Christian. May God bless her Majesty, prosper her royal house, safeguard her descendants on the throne forever, and grant her eternal salvation.

    God Save the Queen!
